Live in Gothenburg or thinking about paying the beautiful city a visit? Our Marketing Manager, Meri, has listed 4 spots with WiFi and delicious coffee for remote workers to check out in the "west coast capital" of Sweden.
Where? Grönsakstorget 2
To my surprise, the hotel we stayed at in Gothenburg happened to be a super trendy co-working space (I didn't make the booking). What are the chances? Both the hotel lobby and the designated co-working space have a lovely atmosphere and great WiFi. There are power outlets all over and a phone booth in the co-working space that people use to make their calls. You can pay hourly or daily fees at Flora.
Bonus; It's close to both Haga (my favourite neighbourhood) and in the middle of the best shopping area in town.
Where? Linnégatan 62
Just minutes away from the beautiful "Slottskogen" park and open until 8pm on weekdays – in Linnégatan – you'll find this absolute gem of a cafe and remote work spot! Kafferosten translates to "The Coffee Roastery", and they do have delish and freshly roasted coffee! They also provide free WiFi and tasty baked goods. At Kafferosten the furniture is colorful and everything is painted or decorated in creative ways you have never seen before. This café is worth a visit even if it's just for lunch or a coffee break. Outside you can enjoy a beautiful terrace where you can eat lunch and watch busy people pass by. Make sure to pay special attention to the ceiling above the kitchen (picture above).
3. Grandpa / da Matteo / Jinx Food Truck
Where? Magasingatan 17 / Vallgatan 5
What I first thought was the coolest shop I've ever been to (Grandpa), turned out to be a backyard café area and beautiful remote work spot! The café, da Matteo, offers free WiFi and the entire backyard including the area by Grandpa seems to be used by everyone visiting one of the cafés. Worth checking out if you brought your laptop and want to work while you drink coffee and try Swedish "fika" (Swedish coffee culture).
Bonus; At da Matteo they roast all their coffee in Magasinsgatan 17 – and you can bring it home with you!
Where? Stora Saluhallen, Kungstorget 13-15
I Accidentally stumbled upon this café/restaurant/bar, and immediately fell in love with the high ceilings and interior. The staff is super friendly and they are focused on serving a climate friendly menu – which I love. Both vegetarian and vegan options were available when I visited. They have free WiFi and a lovely outdoor area in the shade where it's possible to get work done.
